Hours: Flexible
Availability: Immediately, but no later than first quarter 2027.
Reporting to: Co-Founders / Portfolio Managers
 
Purpose of the Role
 
The Investment Analyst will conduct fundamental research and generate investment ideas to support portfolio managers within an active asset management environment. Investment idea generation will be focused on equities, both globally and in South Africa and both long and short, but may extend across other asset classes and may include special situations and arbitrage opportunities.
 
Key areas of responsibility:
  • Conduct in-depth fundamental research, primarily on listed equities, but also on other investment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain financial models and valuations.
  • Generate differentiated investment ideas and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor portfolio holdings and update investment theses.
  • Analyse company results, industry trends, and relevant macro developments.
  • Engage with company management, other investors and analysts, and industry experts.

Minimum qualifications and experience:
  • 3 to 7 years of equity research experience, preferably with global exposure.
  • Post-graduate degree.
  • Sensible use of AI.
