Purpose of the Role
 
We are looking for someone to drive the business development and client relationship activities of Rozendal Partners. The most critical requirement for this role is complete buy in and alignment with the ethos of Rozendal Partners: we are an investment-led firm with our own capital invested in our funds. The firm’s ownership and fee structures are designed to ensure alignment with the long-term investment outcomes of our clients. This does not always make business development easy in the short term. But it does create an environment of honesty, integrity and trust that is the bedrock of enduring client partnerships.
 

 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Define and articulate Rozendal Partners’ value proposition in the market.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to develop compelling messaging and content.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Design and implement a scalable distribution strategy across key markets.
  • Develop and maintain an intermediary support model to facilitate, grow and strengthen partnerships with financial advisors and other intermediaries.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, financial advisors, institutions, and other distribution partners.
  • Deliver presentations, fund updates, and thought leadership to sophisticated clients and prospects.
  • Provide regular feedback and reporting to the Rozendal team on market insights, client requirements, and the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.

 
Qualifications & characteristics:
 
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a client relations, business development or investment distribution environment.
  • Relevant financial or investment qualification.
  • Sound technical knowledge about investments and the investment industry.
  • RE5 (Representative or Key Individual status would be advantageous).
  • Bilingualism (English and Afrikaans) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel.

  • A deep understanding of and ability to communicate Rozendal Partners’ investment philosophy, process and funds.
  • Strong professional network in the investment and financial advisory industry.
  • The ability to thrive independently: you will be expected to take initiative, gain traction, and identify what you need to succeed. While our team is supportive and responsive, we value self-starters who proactively request resources and create opportunities.
  • Commercial acumen to recognise that our distribution focus is aligned with the nature of our funds: targeting qualified investors, institutions, and intermediaries who understand higher-risk investment strategies.

 
Remuneration will be fair, and market related. We are based in Cape Town and prefer that team members work from the office most days of the week, while accommodating needs for flexibility.
